Interesting things happen when you accept offers!

#64. Get plenty of sleep

Make getting your full 8 hours sleep a priority. Relax properly before bed, and get up when the alarm goes off.

#63. Love your stuff

Spend 5 minutes to really appreciate some of the things you own. Remember how great it was when you bought it?

#62. Fail

Do something that you ‘know’ you can’t do.

Do it just for learning, practice, the love of it – don’t get hung up on the outcome.

#61. Random-word playlist

Pick a random word (you can open a book at random and choose the first word you see), then put this into a music player (like Spotify or Last.fm).

Enjoy the playlist you’ve created!

A great way to listen to your gut, and rediscover your priorities.

#59. Create a playlist to fit today

1. Write down 8 things that characterise your day today- for example: close to the weekend? what is the weather like? will you be doing something different? meeting certain people? facing certain challenges?
2. For each, find an appropriate song for your playlist. The song can be about that item, or be a good antidote to it.

#58. Cook up a feast using seasonal, local vegetables

Ask your greengrocer what is seasonal, and locally sourced- then get recipes to match!

#57. Be a tourist in your home town/city

Posted: May 16th, 2010 | add comment / image »

What do tourists and visitors do when they visit your area?
Be a tourist this weekend.

  • Museum?
  • Boat/ canal trip?
  • Local history walk?
  • Gallery?

And just as a tourist would, take photos, use public transport, visit cafes.

#56. Open up ‘closed statements’

Posted: May 15th, 2010 | add comment / image »

Today, listen out for closed ‘statements of facts’ such as:
“xxxx IS xxxx”
“xxxx WONT xxxx”
“xxxx ISNT xxxx”

Which of these closed statements can be opened up?

For example:

“That won’t work” >>> “If you did xxxx, it would be more likely to work, so…”

“There isn’t the time” >>> “we wouldn’t be able to do all of it, at the usual quality, at the usual cost, within that time.. however…”
